Google promised a new video indexing report in Google Search Console a few months ago, and the search firm has now revealed that the new report is already available. The Video indexing report will be released “gradually over the next few months,” so there may be no adjustments for the time being.

What exactly is the video indexing report?
The video indexing report displays the number of indexed pages on your site that include one or more videos and the number of those pages on which a video might be indexed. The report, according to Google, may assist you in evaluating the performance of your films on Google and highlight potential areas for development.
When will the report be available?
If Google identifies videos on your site, the Video indexing report will display in the coverage area on the left navigation bar. You will not see the report if Google does not find a video on your website.

What does it mean?
The report shows the status of video indexing on your website.
It can answer the following questions:
- How many pages has Google identified as containing video?
- Which videos were successfully indexed?
- What obstacles are preventing videos from being indexed?
Furthermore, suppose you resolve a current issue. In that case, you can use the report to evaluate the resolution and follow how your corrected video sites are updated in the Google index, according to Google.
Tool for inspecting URLs for video pages
Google has improved the URL Inspection tool, allowing you to monitor the progress of a given page’s video indexing. If Google detects a video on a page while examining it, the following results will appear:
- Details like the video URL and thumbnail URL
- The page status indicates whether or not the video was indexed.
- A list of the difficulties that are preventing the video from being indexed.
Please remember that this does not operate with the live URL inspection feature.
Why should we care?
If you host or embed videos on your website, you should read this study to discover if there are any methods to improve those films or help other videos appear in Google Search. Videos are a significant part of Google Search traffic and exposure.
